TriMega and Essendant Establish New Strategic Alignment
New Relationship Synchronizes Two Industry Leading Organizations in a Number of Areas

TriMega, its Board of Directors and the leading industry wholesaler, Essendant, are excited to officially announce the launch of the next phase of the new strategic alignment between the two organizations. This comprehensive new relationship will align TriMega and Essendant in a number of areas including procurement, marketing (both print and digital), category management, and content. This program is open to all TriMega members regardless of wholesaler affiliation, and all dealers will recognize benefits from this paradigm shifting initiative.

“We are truly delighted to be blazing this new path with Essendant,” commented Lyle Dabbert, TriMega’s chairman and president at Brown & Saenger. “In today’s business climate, there is a continual need to create synergistic efficiencies in just about everything we do. And this new alignment with one of the industry’s most innovative players helps us do just that.”

“It is also important to note that this is not a first-call wholesale program,” Dabbert continued. “In no way will TriMega members be required or encouraged to change their wholesaler partner. All TriMega members now have the option however to pick and choose from the significant benefits from this new program with Essendant.”

Once fully implemented, the program will drive significant cost and redundancy out of the channel while strengthening the Independent Dealer Channel’s (IDC) volume and importance with key manufacturing partners. The program will include joint marketing, unique TriMega E-content, and TriMega controlled first-in-search.

“We commend the TriMega executive team and board of directors for their forward-thinking approach to embark on this long-term initiative,” remarked Essendant C.O.O. Tim Connolly. “We look forward to working with the TriMega team and their dealer members to help position them for an elevated level of success in their marketplaces,” Connolly concluded. .

Some elements of this new joint relationship include:
  • TriMega controlled search
  • Procurement program that allows TriMega members to purchase from a core list of 6,000 SKU’s sold by the carton at TriMega manufacturer invoice cost with rebates (called MEGA)
  • Access to facilities products by the carton at market price
  • Furniture incentive program
  • Ability for TriMega Members to use their Essendant marketing allowance to purchase TriMega-specific marketing vehicles
  • New categories for direct buy, including jan/san, medical, safety and more
“Our new alignment with Essendant is another element in our strategy to add value for all Independent Dealer Members and our Supplier Partners. Through this pioneering program our members will realize improved cost of goods and increased rebates, all with a focus on our preferred supplier partners. As the largest wholesaler in our market, Essendant has consistently led the charge in innovative program development for the IDC and this TriMega-exclusive initiative is further evidence of their commitment,” commented Mike Maggio, TriMega’s president. “While we still have some work to do to iron out all of the details of this comprehensive program, we have made tremendous progress on many of the most important initiatives and look forward to working with the remarkable team at Essendant to bring these benefits to our independent dealer members to help them to win in the marketplace,” he said.

TriMega has already hosted member information sessions, published a Q&A listing, and worked with Essendant to develop the MEGA item listing for the carton program. Other elements of the partnership will be released when they become available.
