Independent Stationers and TriMega Announce Joint Convention in 2013

Independent Stationers and TriMega Purchasing Association announced a first-ever combined National Convention, bringing dealer members and suppliers from both dealer buying groups together to celebrate the continued US market share growth of independent dealers. Entitled "EPIC 2013 – Where BIG Happens", the event will take place September 18-20, 2013 at the JW Marriott Hill Country in San Antonio, Texas and will connect Independent Stationers and TriMega dealers with all the key industry players including office product manufacturers, national wholesalers, furniture and technology suppliers, janitorial and breakroom suppliers, system providers and other business partners.

The Boards of Directors of Independent Stationers and TriMega Purchasing Association unanimously believe that this really is a ground breaking initiative for independent dealer buying groups which effectively responds to supplier requests to reduce cost from the channel and address annual meeting redundancies in our OP world.  With supplier consolidation, changing economic conditions, and the continued importance of meeting face to face with their respective members, TriMega and Independent Stationers are leading the charge in addressing the issue of meeting-overload in our industry. Further, it remains extremely important for dealer groups to be responsive to supplier needs, remain relevant in the channel and add real value for independent dealers. This combined convention is a big step forward in achieving these objectives.

The components that have made each of the respective group’s individual events so successful will remain intact for EPIC 2013, while introducing many new elements for this joint meeting. EPIC 2013 will feature a combined Opening Session with Independent Stationers members, TriMega members and industry suppliers; a combined comprehensive tradeshow expo hall featuring more than 130 exhibitors; group combined panel discussions, networking opportunities, joint and separate educational seminars, and separate shareholder and membership meetings for both Independent Stationers and TriMega.

Earlier this month, Independent Stationers wrapped up their very successful 2012 Annual Conference, which celebrated the group’s 35^th anniversary, while TriMega is getting set to host their National Convention, Propel 2012 October 10 – 12 in Orlando, Florida. TriMega looks forward to what is shaping up to be a hugely successful industry event next month, with an eye to the future for an even more impactful joint endeavor next year in EPIC 2013.

Further details on EPIC 2013 will be available to members and suppliers of both TriMega and Independent Stationers in the first quarter of next year. In the meantime, mark your calendar now for September 18-20, 2013 in San Antonio for a truly unique, memorable and innovative industry event.
