TriMega Launches the orange project
In a move that further underscores its position as the leading dealer group for office products independents, TriMega Purchasing Association has launched the orange project, (with the tagline: the new color of Jan/San success) a new program designed to help its members make the most of the rapidly emerging opportunities in the janitorial and sanitation and breakroom products market.
“The commercial Jan/San market is a $25 billion business that offers tremendous potential to independent office products dealers,” commented TriMega President Charlie Cleary. “The Orange Project from TriMega gives our dealers what they need to succeed — the right Jan/San products — both national name brands and private label ‘fighter’ brands, outstanding wholesaler support, a multi-faceted nationwide marketing effort and a comprehensive training program that together represent a powerful new sales and profit engine for a critical market for our members.”
The Orange Project from TriMega will roll out in three phases, Cleary explained.
Phase One, which launched via a webinar to members last week, offers a full line of towel and tissue, liners, chemicals, equipment and breakroom products in both nationally-branded and private label SKUs, supported by the industry’s top two national wholesalers, United Stationers and S.P. Richards, and ongoing training and marketing programs from TriMega. Also, supporting the program is a new microsite just launched for TriMega members to access suppliers programs, training and promotional activities specific to the category, including access to free marketing materials.
Phase Two is scheduled to be rolled out at TriMega’s National Convention in October, Propel 2012 (www.trimega.org/propel) and will see the addition of a quarterly end user Jan/San sales flyer and rollout of a nationwide promotional campaign.
Phase Three, set for the first quarter of 2013, will offer special promotions from individual Jan/San suppliers and also see the addition of several new direct ship suppliers to the program.
Spearheading the Orange Project for TriMega is the group’s Director of Purchasing, Tom Hoffmann, an industry veteran with extensive experience in the Jan/San market.
“Jan/San is different from the traditional office supplies dealer channel and our new Orange Project from TriMega recognizes that on multiple levels,” said Hoffmann. “TriMega dealers come to the Jan/San market with significant advantages over traditional Jan/San distributors — superior systems, sophisticated web-based marketing, extraordinary customer service and powerful existing relationships — and the Orange Project will help them fully leverage those advantages to build an important new revenue stream.”
