TriMega Pays $10.3M in Q1 2009 Rebates to Members
TriMega announced today that it recently made another quarterly distribution of rebates to its dealer members, one-week ahead of the scheduled distribution date. The organization distributed rebate checks for the first quarter of 2009, totaling $10.3M and representing an increase of nearly 8% over the same period in 2008. This recent payout brings the total rebates paid-to-date in 2009 to $23M, nearing last year’s 6-month distribution record of $23.7M. This recent rebate distribution covered January 1 – March 31, 2009 purchase activity, including Q1 rebates from the Association’s TriSupply program with United Stationers & SP Richards.
"Despite a very slow start to 2009 for the office products industry and the economy as a whole, we still remain encouraged by both the market share gains that have been captured and the operational efficiencies that have been put into action by many TriMega members,” commented Charlie Cleary, President of TriMega. “This year-to- date distribution nearly equals the record of $23.7 million set in the first half of 2008. Even with the soft economy of 2009, we expect to continue strong quarterly rebate distributions to our members for the balance of the year,” he concluded.
“To be able to inject this capital into the independent dealer channel, during these precarious times, speaks volumes to the keen financial management of the TriMega organization and the group’s ability to increase program value for members,” remarked Wayne Stillwagon, TriMega’s Chairman of the Board of Miller’s Office Products in Lorton, VA. “What’s more - it highlights TriMega members’ commitment to our preferred suppliers’ purchasing and marketing programs. And, this rebate distribution, which represents an increased payout over last year, demonstrates it’s a commitment that clearly pays dividends,” he commented.
“With over 575 members, and more new dealers joining TriMega every week, it is apparent that the efficiency driving tools & services and on-going efforts to help our members compete in this new economy, has real value to independent dealers nationwide,” said Wayne Stillwagon. “This most recent quarterly performance and rebate distribution contributes significantly to improving the profitability and strengthening resiliency of the independent dealer channel this year and in the future,” he concluded.
TriMega’s next cash rebate distribution is September 15, 2009 for Q2 2009 purchases.
